The City Clerk's Office is located in the City Hall building at
4331 Southwest Highway.  The Clerk's office is open:  


Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am to 5 pm.  Tuesday from 9am to 9pm to serve the citizen's of Hometown.

Some of the reasons you will visit the City Clerk's Office:

  • To buy your vehicle sticker (between May 1st and June 30th )

You have 30 days from the date of a new vehicle purchase and 30 days after you move in to purchase vehicle stickers

  • To license your pet.

(Dog /Cat between May 1st and June 30th ) Bring their current rabies certificate. 

  • To pay your water/sewer bill.

You are billed monthly (2 estimates and one actual reading per quarter).

  • To register to vote.

(Registration closes 30 days prior to an election).

  • To pick up an application for an absentee ballot.
  • To pick up an application for a disabled voter or a student voter living away from home.
  • To receive a ballot by mail.
  • To vote an absentee ballot.
  • To apply for a building permit.

(Most permits are 3% of the cost of construction with a $15.00 minimum)

  • To pick up and pay for your approved building permit.
  • To return your inspection card once work is completed. 
  • To have a document notarized (free of charge)
  • To apply for a housing inspection (required when selling your home or changing renters, $50.00 fee To get a list of licensed contractors.
  • To file a health and or safety complaint.
  • To apply for a Building Board of Appeal ($20.00 fee) or Zoning Board of Appeal ($125.00 fee) hearing.
  • To pick up yard waste stickers for cans used for yard waste only.
  • To pick up a HT sticker for the bumper of your car (optional).
  • To donate to the adopt a flag program to defray the cost to keep the flags flying through out the City.

Many of the items listed above can be handled by mail or by dropping them in the 24- hour drop box located in the Hometown Police Station. We can also fax many of the applications to you. The City Clerk's office is available to answer any questions you may have concerning Hometown, and if we do not have an answer to your question, we will direct you to where you can find the information you are seeking. Please have a safe and happy summer. New residents please call or stop by the City Clerk's office soon after you get settled in to your new home.
